Southwest begins service in Philadelphia with fares starting from $79 one-way to Orlando or Chicago

Southwest Airlines brought its low fares to Philadelphia International Airport by starting its new service on May 9, 2004. There are 14 daily nonstop flights to the following cities:
  • Chicago Midway (three daily)
  • Las Vegas (one daily)
  • Orlando (three daily)
  • Phoenix (one daily)
  • Providence (five daily)
  • and Tampa Bay (one daily).

14 additional flights will begin July 6, 2004, to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood, Houston Hobby, Los Angeles International Airport, Manchester, N.H. New Orleans, Raleigh-Durham, Tampa Bay (adding one nonstop for a total of two daily), and West Palm Beach.

Southwest Airlines offers a selection of low fares. 14-day advance purchase fares start from $79 one-way from Philadelphia to Orlando or Chicago. Or you can fly from Philly to Boston (via Providence, R.I.) for only $29 one-way.

The unrestricted airfare is also affordable with walk-up fares starting at $49 one-way to Providence, and they top out at $299 one-way for cross-country flights to Las Vegas, Phoenix, and the West Coast. No advance purchase or overnight stay is required on these unrestricted fares. Additional taxes and fees apply.
