The hotel was originally constructed in 1899 and initially served as a girl's boarding school attended by the elite of Italy's aristocratic society. The structure was later converted into a modern luxury hotel.

Aldrovandi Palace has eight rooms which can be rented for business meetings or banquets. The largest room can accommodate up to 300 guests.

There are 122 hotel rooms, 12 suites and a royal suite measuring 1,400 square feet. Most of the rooms have a view of the park, the hotel's private garden, or the pool. Every hotel room has been individually furnished in 19th century style.

Hotel guests can dine in one of the two restaurants, Restaurant Relais La Piscine and Grill Room Le Relais, serving elegant lunches and dinners. Buffet breakfast is served daily in Sala Verde dining room.

The Lounge Bar features piano music in the evenings year-round. The hotel's second bar, The Chiosco Bar, located in the private garden, is open from June to September and serves light meals.
