The Marine Centre on the island operates a 41-foot game fishing boat, Sun Aura, with a spacious deck which provides easy access to fishing tackle. The professional crew on the boat can assist novice anglers.
Game fishing is available year-round. From September to February, the warm waters attract Black Marlin, Sailfish, Bluefin Tuna, Wahoo and Mahi Mahi. From March to August, cold water pelagic fish are attracted to the area, including Narrow Barred Mackerel (Spanish Mackerel), Black Kingfish (Cobia), Giant Trevally and Queenfish.
Prime bottom fishing conditions are from March to August when fish carry excess fat to survive the cool water months. Commonly caught fish include Coral Trout, Red Emperor, Sweetlip and Scarlet Sea Perch.
