During the first three weeks, concerts will be held in the Joan W. and Irving B. Harris Theater for Music and Dance, at 205 E. Randolph St. and and other satellite locations. On July 16-18 opening concerts will be held at the new permanent facility for the festival - the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.
Concerts are performed by the 82-member Grant Park Orchestra and 60-member Chorus, led by Principal Conductor Carlos Kalmar, Principal Guest Conductor James Paul, and Chorus Director Christopher Bell. During the 2004 season, the Grant Park Orchestra will also be led by a diverse group of guest conductors.
Concerts start at 6:30 pm on Wednesday and Friday nights, and some Saturdays and Sundays. Family-friendly performances at 3:00 pm will also be available. For a complete 2004 summer schedule, visit www.grantparkmusicfestival.com.
All Grant Park Music Festival concerts are admission free with seating on a first-come, first-serve basis. Various season memberships are available (ranging from $50 to $2,000) which provide access to the reserved members' seating area.
