Lake Austin Spa Resort
Written by VacationIdea.com Travel Editors. The atmosphere at Lake Austin Spa Resort is relaxed and intimate since there are only 40 guest cottages. The rooms feature handcrafted furnishings, soaking tubs, cotton spa robes and luxurious down bedding. The resort has beautiful gardens with 200 species of plants, herbs, vegetables, spices and wildflowers.
There is a great number of activities to choose from, including kayaking on the lake, hiking, Hydro-bike interval workouts, swimming in the resort's indoor Junior Olympic-size pool, core training, step aerobics, kickboxing and spinning. Other workouts include Nia, Pilates, Tai Chi and yoga, taught both indoors and outdoors on a wooden deck suspended over the lake.
The 25,000-square-foot LakeHouse Spa offers more than 100 different body treatments and therapies. You can choose to receive your treatment outdoors in a poolside cabana or on a screened veranda. Healing treatments use herbs grown in the spa's Healing Gardens, based on ancient principles of Aromatherapy, Hydrotherapy, Moortherapy, and Thalassotherapy.
Various discovery programs are taught by spa staff and guest instructors. Topics include body image, relationships, cooking, and gardening.
An important part of the healthy experience at Lake Austin Spa Resort is its delicious, low-fat food prepared by Chef Terry Conlan. The Menu is inspired by Southwestern, Mexican, Caribbean, Mediterranean and Asian dishes. Some of the ingredients are grown at the resort's organic gardens.
