The island is rich with marine life and vegetation, including 175 species of birds, cactus groves, mangroves and wetlands. Beach vacation activities include tennis, swimming in the 5,500-square-foot infinity edge pool, scuba diving and fishing.
Rooms & Villas
Parrot Cay buildings and beach front villas were built in a modern colonial style. The interior design, completed by the designed Keith Hobbs of United Designers in London, is based on clean simplicity with elements of colonial decor, such as four poster beds and teak furniture.
The resort has 60 guestrooms and beach villas. Nine one-bedroom villas come with a private plunge pool and five two- and three-bedroom villas have their own swimming pools, great for a Caribbean honeymoon.
The Spa
Shambala Spa and yoga retreat is set on top of a hill. It consists of three pavilions for treatment, yoga and Pilates. The spa's emphasis is on Eastern-inspired therapies.
Guests can dine al fresco on the beach or at the poolside Lotus Restaurant. The gourmet Terrace Restaurant in the main building is open for dinner. A healthy Shambala spa menu is available for lunch at the pool and for dinner in both restaurants.
The Facts
Doubles from $450 USD in the summer; from $535 in the spring and fall; and from $680 in the winter. The rate includes a scheduled airport transfer, English breakfast and some vacation activities on the island.
Turks and Caicos is an archipelago of eight principal islands and more than 40 smaller cays, one of which is Parrot Cay. The resort is located 575 miles south east of Miami (70 minutes by plane). Once you arrive in Providenciales in Turks and Caicos, Parrot Cay is 35 minutes away by boat. The resort provides scheduled airport transfers.
