San Francisco Blues Festival

San Francisco Blues Festival is a popular outdoor music festival which takes place every September. The festival features great music and scenic views of the San Francisco Bay from its waterfront location. This year, the festival will take place on September 28-29 at Great Meadow, Fort Mason in San Francisco. The music will last from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The festival will open with a free concert on Friday September 27, 2002. The Friday concert is scheduled to take place in the Justin Herman Plaza, Embarcadero Four, from Noon to 1:30 p.m.

This year, the San Francisco Blues Festival celebrates its 30th anniversary. The Great Meadow, where the festival takes place on Saturday in Sunday, is located in the San Francisco Marina District. Its waterside location provides spectacular views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. Visitors will be able to purchase food and beverage at the festival's location.

Spectators are seated on the grass. You can bring your own low lawn chairs or blankets, or try to get rental chairs on site.

Planning a Vacation:

If you purchase your tickets in advance, general admission costs $25 per day, or $40 for a two-day ticket. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate for $30 per day. Limited lawn-seating, two-day tickets may still be available for $65. Tickets can be ordered online through www.ticketmaster.com as well as at Wherehouse Music, Tower Records or Ritmo Latino.
