The Westin St. Francis enjoys a prominent location overlooking Union Square in downtown San Francisco, just minutes from Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf and San Francisco's financial district.
Although the original hotel has been expanded and restored, the original old-world opulence has been preserved through the use of marble, oak, crystal chandeliers, gilded ceilings and murals.
The Main Building, built between 1904 and 1913, has 10 floors and 615 guest rooms. The 27-floor Tower, built in 1972, houses 581 rooms and suites. Some of the rooms and suites offer panoramic views of the bay.
The Westin St. Francis has a new spa and health club offering a range of spa treatments such as massages, facials, manicures and pedicures.
The hotel features several bars and banquet rooms which can be rented for special events. The Compass Rose is a grand bar reminiscent of the 40s, serving martinis, caviar and champagne in the evenings. It also offers a lunch menu during the day.
The Oak Room offers an American-style lunch and dinner menu as well as a la carte breakfast. Caruso's Coffee Bar, located in the Tower lobby, serves homemade pastries, wines by the glass, salads and sandwiches.
