Terme di Saturnia is one of the top full-service European spa resorts, located on the coast of Tuscany, Italy. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful scenery, Medieval fortresses and ancient Roman ruins.

Terme di Saturnia features four outdoor thermal pools, a fitness center, a tennis court, a nine-hole golf course, a salon and an art gallery. The spa received its name in the Etruscan era after the Etruscan goddess Aurinia who was later renamed Saturnia by the Romans in the 2nd century B.C.

The resort is comprised of three separate structures. Hotel Terme di Saturnia, surrounded by a beautiful park, offers 140 rooms and suites. Saturnia Country Lodge is a quiet country hotel located on a 3,000-acre natural preserve. Relais La Stellata is an ancient country house, also part of the resort.

Terme di Saturnia spa philosophy is based on the concept of complete harmony between mind, body, and the surrounding environment, achieved through hydrotherapy, beauty, stress management, diet and fitness.

The thermal waters of Saturnia contain large quantities of hydrogen-sulfate and carbon dioxide, both believed to be beneficial to the skin. The water has a relaxing effect and improves circulation.

The hotel offers a series of personalized programs from three to 14 day in length. If you prefer, you can also enjoy a few individual treatments at the spa, such as massage, lymph drainage, Shiatsu, reflexology, stone therapy, facials, wraps, manicures and pedicures.

There is a wide range of fitness programs to choose from, including personal training, daily morning hike, stretching, mind and body relaxation.

Villa Montepaldi Restaurant offers two dining rooms, one non-smoking. You can also dine outdoors at the Garden Buffet located in the park surrounding the pool.

Rates start from Euro 200 per person per night in a double room. If you are planning a longer spa getaway, the resort offers weekly rates which are a good deal.

The hotel is about 90 miles from Rome's Leonardo da Vinci. The closest train station is in Grosseto, 35 miles from the hotel. Terme di Saturnia resort provides a shuttle bus service for an additional fee from the hotel to and from the airport and train station. You should book the shuttle when making your room reservation.
