The Floriade is a paradise for garden, flower and plant lovers. This world horticultural exhibition is held in the Netherlands every 10 years. This year, the exhibition will run from April 6 to October 20 in the district of Haarlemmermeer, close to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It is expected to attract three million visitors.

International exhibitors will create more than 300 displays and presentations in the 65-hectare park. The displays will incorporate flowers, fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, plants, trees, bushes and shrubs. More sensitive displays are housed in a sheltered indoor area which can accommodate 35 to 40 exhibits at a time. Visitors can participate in various workshops, guided tours and other events.

To see the exhibition schedule, visit the official Floriade 2002 web site at www.floriade.nl. The Floriade will be open from Saturday April 6, 2002 to Sunday October 20, 2002. The opening hours are daily from 9.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The ticket desks are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets cost € 17.00 (about US $15).
