Royal Caribbean International Orders New Cruise Ship

Royal Caribbean International ordered a 5,400-guest, 220,000-gross-registered-ton ship by Finnish shipbuilder Aker Yards. The new cruise ship is scheduled for delivery in the fall of 2009.

The ship, called Project Genesis, will be 1,180 feet long, 154 feet wide and 240 feet high.

New design features will include improved energy efficiency in air conditioning and water production and treatment systems.
