The Arboretum is home to the world's largest ponderosa pine forest, 2,500 species of high-elevation plants and over 100 species of birds. Visitors can explore several miles of trails to explore, as well as attend classes and workshops on gardening and natural history.

The Arboretum provides daily guided tours of the facility, included in the price of admission. The tours last one hour and are offered at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
