Why Vacation in Hawaii
Hawaii offers something for everyone: golf, luxury spas, nightlife in Waikiki, surfing, secluded beaches, family resorts, and more.

If you are planning a golf vacation in Hawaii, there are many options. The Mauna Kea Resort on Big Island has two golf courses and two hotels: Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. On Maui, there is the Maui Prince Hotel with two golf courses, Kapalua Resort and several luxury resorts in Wailea.

For a romantic getaway, head to Hana which offers secluded beaches and organic food. Other secluded romantic getaways in Hawaii include the Lodge at Molokai Ranch on Molokai, and the luxury Manele Bay Hotel on Lanai.

Where to Go
Visit one of the Hawaiian Islands: Maui, Oahu, Big Island of Hawaii, Kauai, Molokai or Lanai. Waikiki Beach on Oahu is one of the most popular vacation destinations in Hawaii.

What to Do
Take Surfing Lessons
There are a number of surf schools in Hawaii and there's no better time than vacation to learn how to catch a wave of your own. Private lessons on Waikiki Beach are about $35 per hour and surfboard rentals are $10 per hour.

Learn to Scuba Dive
Certification courses are available on all of the islands and can take as little as three days from start to finish. Check out Lahaina Divers on Maui. Their open water training course costs $299 per person.

Watch the Sunrise at 10,000 Feet
The sunrise at Haleakala National Park is one of the main pre-dawn events on Maui. People drive to the summit to watch the sunrise. You can loose the crowds by walking away from the parking lot and heading down the trail into the crater area. Bring warm clothes - it's cold up there!

Hawaii Hotels
If you are looking for a hotel in Hawaii, then spend some time trying to find a resort that satisfies all of your vacation demands. There are so many resorts on Hawaii that you shouldn't just look at three and then choose one. Here are some links to some Hawaii hotel collections.

Getting to Hawaii
Continental Airlines, American Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Airlines all fly to Hawaii.

Flight Times to Hawaii
East Coast to Honolulu: 10 hours 30 minutes.
West Coast to Honolulu: about 5 hours

Getting Around While You Are There
Unless you want to spend all your time at your resort (nothing wrong with that), you are going to have to rent a car. Rental cars are available at most airports (except on Molokai and Lanai) as well as at several hotels. Be sure not to leave anything of value in the car when you park it at the beach.

Aloha, Hawaiian Airlines and the new low-cost airline go! offer daily flights between the islands.

When To Go
Hawaii is great year-round. If you want to see whales and go surfing, winter is the best time. Summers are popular with family vacationers. Low season is October and November.

What to Bring
A small bag or backpack is useful for carrying beach essentials with you if you plan on stopping at some of the more secluded beaches. Don't forget sunglasses, sunscreen and a bottle of water.
