If you are interested in historic buildings, gardens and 20th-century sculpture, take a tour of Kykuit. Home to the Rockefeller family, this historic estate is a great New York vacation destination offering scenic views of the Hudson River, formal gardens with fountains and a collection of art.
Tours begin at the Philipsburg Manor/Kykuit Visitor Center on Route 9 in Sleepy Hollow, New York. Since tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis you should get there early, especially on weekends.
Tours are offered daily, except Tuesday, from the end of April through the beginning of November. The Visitor Center opens at 9 am to sell tickets for that day only. Visit www.hudsonvalley.org to confirm opening times before you go.
Admission is $22 for adults, $20 for seniors and $18 for children 17 and under. Kykuit tours are not appropriate for children under 10.
