Located on New Providence Island, Nassau is the capital city of the Bahamas. Many visitors pass through the city on their way to other islands. Nassau features colonial mansions, cathedrals and 18th-century fortresses.
The main street in Nassau is the Historic Bay Street. Recently restored, the streat is home to numerous shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. If you are plannning to stay in Nassau on your Bahamas vacation, Compass Point is a colorful hotel with a beachfront setting.
Paradise Island and Nassau are connected by two 600-foot bridges. On Paradise Island you will find vacation resorts, hotels, restaurants and shops. There is also a golf course, an aquarium, and a casino at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort.
