The Essence Music Festival has been one of the big four New Orleans festivals since its inception in 1995. The festival usually happens over the July 4th weekend.
Attracting over 195,000 participants, the festival is a celebration of music, culture, and heritage. The Louisiana Superdome hosts diverse concerts by some of the best R & B, jazz, classic soul, world-beat and neo-soul artists.
The festival also features daytime empowerment seminars at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center with renowned speakers, authors, and leaders.
