Why Go
If you want to have Yosemite National Park all to yourself, winter is the best time to visit. Stay at the luxury Tenaya Lodge at the south entrance to the park for only $109 per night on certain days. Doubles usually go for $265 per night, so take advantage of this deal.

Skiing & Snowshoeing
Yosemite Valley and Wawona remain accessible by car all year. The Glacier Point/Badger Pass Road is plowed to the Badger Pass Ski Area which offers downhill and cross-country skiing. You can also join one of the ranger-led snowshoe walks offered by the National Park Service.

Ice-skating in Yosemite
From mid-November through mid-March, outdoor ice-skating is available in Curry Village. Call the Curry Village Ice Rink at 209-372-8319 for more information.

Plan You Winter Vacation
For more information, visit the National Park Service web site on Yosemite at www.nps.gov/yose. If you plan to drive in the park, check road conditions before you go. Tire chains are often required on park roads. The park newspaper, available online, lists all the current ranger-led programs in Yosemite.
