Phones and Internet in Florence, Italy

To use public phones in Florence, you will need to purchase a phone card at a bar or another establishment displaying the telephone sign. Public phones in Italy used to accept coins, but now they only work with phone cards.
After you purchase the card, break off the dotted corner and insert the card into a public telephone. To call the US, dial the 00 exit code, 1 for United States, and then the number you are trying to call, including area code.
Internet Cafes in Florence
There are several internet cafes in the historic center of Florence. The Internet Train chain has locations near the Duomo, near the train station and near Santa Croce. Visit www.internettrain.it for a list of locations and opening times.
