Oxbow Bend presents exciting wildlife watching opportunities

Written by VacationIdea.com Travel Editors.
Located one mile east of Jackson Lake Junction, Oxbow Bend is a green area surrounding Snake River. Slow-moving water provides ideal habitat for beavers, river otters, muskrats and fish.

Moose can often be seen feeding on the grass at the water’s edge. You may also spot elk.

Fish provide food for ospreys, bald eagles and American white pelicans.

Drive carefully near Oxbow Bend because other drivers may slam on the brakes as the see wildlife. The best thing to do is to pull into the Oxbow Bend turnout. If you are planning to hike near the river, be sure to wear insect repellant.

Jackson Lake Lodge and Willow Flats are located just down the road.
