Guest accommodation at the Maungatautari Lodge include five guest suites in the lodge and three villas in the garden adjacent to the main lodge building. Each of the five individually decorated guest suites has a private balcony overlooking Lake Karapiro. The cuisine at Maungatautari Lodge is prepared from fine organic New Zealand produce. Choices range from organic beef, lamb, poultry, fish and game as well as fresh organic vegetables from the Lodge garden. Breakfast, pre dinner drinks and a four course evening meal are included in the daily room rate. Lunch can be prepared for you at the lodge.
Things to Do Nearby
Golf, fishing, cambridge stud tours, hot air ballooning and jet boating are all available near the lodge. The Maungatautari mountain range is a conservation reserve with several walking tracks that run the length of the reserve.
How to Get to the Resort
The Maungatautari Lodge is about two hours south of Auckland International Airport. If you don't want to rent a car you can always reach the lodge by helicopter from Auckland, a 30 minute scenic flight.
The Facts
Rates are around 500 NZD per couple per night. Rates vary by season, with the most expensive rates from October through April. If you are on a family vacation, children under the age of 12 are an additional 67.50 NZD per night.
