Why Go
Turtle Island is a 500 acre private island vacation resort which is part of the Yasawa group in the Republic of Fiji. If you are looking for a private island getaway or the perfect luxury beach vacation, Turtle Island might just be the place for you.
A vacation on Turtle Island can be as active or as relaxing as you want it to be. Activities available on the island include scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, horseback riding, hiking, sea kayaking, private beach picnic, and, of course, "hammocking" (sleeping in a hammock and dreaming of where to have your dinner). The all-inclusive price plan on Turtle Island means that all activities are included in the daily room rate on this island vacation.
Upon arrival, every couple on the island is assigned a dedicated "bure" manager who basically does everything possible to make your vacation as wonderful as it can be.
The fourteen bures on Turtle Island are all spacious and decorated with handcrafted furniture and fittings. The bures are also far enough away from each other so that you will feel as though you are at your own private island. There is a refrigerator and a bar in the sitting room, always stocked with your favorite drinks.
The Grand bures all have king-size four poster beds, a Jacuzzi, an outdoor shower, and a verandah with a queen-size day bad.
Meals at the resort are served informally at a communal table where guests can come together to share island experiences with one another.
A meal at the long dining table is just one of the many dining options on Turtle Island. Guests can indulge in a champagne breakfast on the beach, gourmet picnics at a private beach, or a dine-out where you can choose to dine in a unique location such as a mountaintop, the end of the dock, or the middle of the lagoon.
To complement its fine cusine, Turtle Island has one of the most comprehensive wine lists in the South Pacific. The wine cellar includes over 3,000 bottles from 44 different wines from France, Australia, New Zealand, the U.S., South Africa, and Italy.
To reach Turtle Island, fly into Fiji's Nadi International Airport. From there, transfer to a seaplane for a 30 minute flight to Turtle Island. There is a total weight allowance of 33 lb. per person on the seaplane.
