The island of Maui offers a selection of different vacation activities, ranging from ultra-relaxing to adventurous. The island has many luxury resorts, a dormant volcano and 39 beaches with public facilities.
Some of the popular vacation activities on the island include shopping in the old whaling town of Lahaina and watching the sunrise at Haleakala National Park.
Maui is the second largest of the Hawaiian islands. The County of Maui includes the islands of Molokai and Lanai which can be reached by ferry from Lahaina.

Maui has over 60 hotels and 100 vacation condominiums. If you are planning a family vacation to Maui, take a look at Napili Kai Beach Resort which offers condos on the beach and a seasonal program for kids. On the southern part of the island, Maui Prince Hotel offers a secluded beach and two championship golf courses. In Wailea, there are several luxury resorts, shopping and golf. Kapalua Resort is famous for its golf and beaches.
How to Get There
Most flights land at Kahului, the main airport on Maui. There is also a smaller airport on West Maui, and a commuter airport in Hana. Rental cars are available at Kahului airport and in Kaanapali.
