Why Napili Kai is a Family Place
Napili Kai Beach Resort located on the sunny west coast of Maui has all of the facilities expected of a family resort: numerous activities that can be enjoyed by family members of all ages, a beautiful sandy beach and a choice of different accommodations. It also offers something that is not often found at vacation resorts - a unique family atmosphere among the resort staff.

Napili Bay appears almost untouched by the recent development of land that has taken place on West Maui. Diane Farnsworth, Director of Guest Operations, points out that one of the founders of Napili Kai Beach Resort, Jack Millar, had the foresight to form a separate zone for Napili Bay in 1964 and thereby ensure that no building can be higher than a tree and that buildings are built in Hawaiian style.
Activities at Napili Kai Beach Resort
The resort offers an array of activities to its guests, most of which are complimentary. Lei making, hula lessons and Mai Tai parties are scheduled on throughout the week.
There are four swimming pools, a heated whirlpool and an 18-hole putting green. Complimentary sports and beach equipment can be rented at Makai Hale next to the beach, including masks and snorkels for snorkeling in Napili Bay.
The resort offers some adult-only activities, such as the Putting Party with 50¢ drinks and adult lei making lessons.
The Spa
Massage services, facials and body treatments are available in guest rooms and at Makai Massage & Bodywork.
Children's Program
Unlike so many resorts on Maui, Napili Kai does not charge a fee for its children's program. The program is available to children ages 6-12 from mid-June to the end of August, during Easter and Christmas. Kids can spend two to three hours per day playing Hawaiian games, hula dancing, lei making and listening to Hawaiian stories. Both kids and grown-ups can participate in Parent/Child Putting Contests.
Guest Accommodations
Guest rooms and suites of different sizes are located in several separate resort buildings. The recently renovated Lahaina beachfront condos are among the most popular because their screen doors open right onto the beach. They feature new kitchenettes with marble countertops.
There resort has 163 guest rooms set on ten acres. Studios and suites have kitchenettes and spacious lanais with lounge chairs.
Family-friendly Facilities
The best way to save money while vacationing on Maui is to cook some of your own meals. Studios and suites at Napili Kai Beach Resort are equipped with kitchenettes. There are also several barbecue areas if you prefer to grill outdoors. Just remember to bring your own charcoal.
Other convenient facilities for families include laundry machines & driers, parking space right next to each guest building, and daily maid service.
Family Reunions

Dining & Entertainment
Enjoy beachfront dining at the Sea House Restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant has a children's menu. There is no room service at Napili Kai, but if you don't feel like cooking your own food, call the restaurant and place a take-out order.
Napili Kai Foundation presents a unique Keiki Hula Show once a week. This nonprofit organization has worked to preserve the Hawaiian culture for the last 30 years by teaching kids about their heritage: dances, language, history, arts and crafts of Polynesia.
When to Go
Maui enjoys warm temperatures year-round and there is very little rain on West Maui. Summers and holidays are the busiest time of year, so it's a good idea to make reservations well in advance.
