Ride the Mount Washington Cog Railway on your ski vacation in New Hampshire

Written by VacationIdea.com Travel Editors.
Want to try something different from regular chair lifts? This winter you can ride the 135-year old steam-powered railway up Mount Washington in New Hampshire and ski down the mountain to the Marshfield Station.

The Mount Washington Cog Railway is the world's first mountain climbing cog railway. It will travel to the base of Cold Spring Hill, giving skiers access to beginner terrain, and to the Waumbek Siding, for intermediate-level skiing and snowboarding.

Running parallel to the railway trestle is a one-mile-long groomed trail offering 1,100 vertical feet of skiing.

Stay at the historic Mount Washington Hotel, located at the Bretton Woods Mountain Resort in New Hampshire.
