St. Mark's District in Venice

Venice is divided into six administrative distrists. St. Mark's district which lies in the heart of the city is the most visited of the six. Attractions include St. Mark's Square, the Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Church.

The best way to get around is on foot. You can walk across small bridges and narrow streets from St. Mark's Square to Rialto in about 30 minutes. Along the way, streets are lined with boutique shops selling glass items, clothings and books.
