Insider Guide to Yellowstone
The road from Tower-Roosevelt to Canyon Village starts near the Roosevelt Lodge, an area named after the former president Theodore Roosevelt. It winds past Tower Fall, a 132-foot drop made famous by the idyllic paintings of Thomas Moran.
The road is steep as it makes its way up and down the Dunraven Pass at 8,859 feet. Before you begin the drive, stop at one of the visitor centers in the park to check on road conditions.
